All the usual suspects were there at the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards. Everyone was dressed in their coveted couture and looking in their absolute best. But the standout of the night has to be the creation by Alexander Wang, worn by German model Anna Ewers. Yeah it does look nothing more than a chain mail dress but what if I told you that this exquisite dress is made from 500 American Express Gold Cards?
Wang created the textile using a new technique that allowed him to composite a one-of-a-kind, textured material. Think large sequins, but much more elevated. The end result is a very endearing textile that flows like liquid gold and of course full of sass. So so so in love with this concept of re-purposing iconic items and definitely a respectful bow from me to Alexander Wang.
